The name Texas Empresarios is intentional.
“Empresarios” is rooted in the history of Texas and reflects the spirit of the builders, operators, and risk-takers who helped shape the state through initiative, hard work, and perseverance. They saw opportunity, took ownership, and worked to build something lasting.
Texas Empresarios Capital Group was founded to support the modern-day empresario—the business owners, real estate investors, developers, and entrepreneurs building businesses, investing in communities, and creating opportunities of their own.
As business owners ourselves, we understand that opportunities don't always fit neatly inside the traditional lending box. A strong business, property, or transaction can still face challenges because of credit, cash flow, documentation, leverage, timing, or simply the way a particular lender evaluates the opportunity.
Texas Empresarios Capital Group combines our specialized real estate financing programs with an extensive network of banks, non-bank lenders, private lenders, and specialty capital providers, allowing us to evaluate multiple capital paths rather and reinforcing the belieg that good opportunites deserve access to the righ capital.

Matt Corley
As the Founder of Texas Empresarios, Matt Corley brings a unique blend of expertise and leadership to the company. A 5th generation Texan born and raised in Montgomery County, Matt's deep Texas roots fuel his passion for supporting local businesses. With an MBA from Sam Houston State and over five years of lending experience, Matt has also leveraged his background in government compliance, finance, and public relations to help small businesses navigate the complex lending environment and secure the funding they need to thrive. His comprehensive understanding of government processes ensures that Texas Empresarios' clients receive not only financial support but also expert guidance through a complicated and competitive loan process.
Jose Tristan
Jose Tristan is one of the Managing Partners of Texas Empresarios and brings over 25 years of business development experience working alongside business owners. His background spans alternative business lending, capital consulting, and strategic advisory, helping small and mid-sized businesses navigate capital decisions and long-term growth.
Jose has spent more than a decade advising businesses on alternative lending solutions and capital strategy, with a focus on aligning financing with the realities of the business. Earlier in his career, he worked with Fortune 100 companies at Verizon, supporting enterprise IT solutions. A proud Texan, born and raised, Jose is bilingual in English and Spanish and is committed to helping business owners move forward with clarity and confidence.
Bethany Sammons
Bethany Sammons is a proud Texan with a passion for helping businesses grow. She leads commercial lending efforts in Austin and San Antonio while working with clients across the country, always taking a hands-on, consultative approach to finding the right financial solutions.
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Bethany’s career took her from Florida to Chicago to Northern Virginia before her Texas roots brought her back home to the Hill Country. With a strong background in real estate and commercial finance, she partners with business owners to navigate their lending needs, whether for expansion, acquisitions, or long-term stability.

Carolina Sarmiento
Carolina Sarmiento serves as Chief Transactions Coordinator at Texas Empresarios, where she oversees transaction flow and supports execution across capital and real estate engagements. She brings extensive experience in real estate, escrow, and transaction coordination, with a strong focus on accuracy, organization, and timely closings.
Carolina has worked as a licensed Texas Realtor and previously held escrow and legal assistant roles with multiple title companies and law firms, giving her hands-on experience managing transactions from contract to close. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she plays a key role in coordinating documentation, communicating with stakeholders, and ensuring transactions move forward smoothly and efficiently.
Matthew Gurany
With over 25 years of lending experience, Mathew Gurany brings a wealth of financial expertise to Texas Empresarios. A graduate of the University of Virginia, his career spans both community and large traditional financial institutions, with a strong focus on commercial real estate, business acquisitions, and asset-based financing.
Matthew's background in the Oil and Gas industry further enhances his ability to structure tailored financing solutions for capital-intensive businesses.
